The North American Arms Sidewinder is a 22 WMR revolver with a 4-inch barrel and 5-round capacity, featuring a swing-out cylinder that enables quick reloads without removing the cylinder from the frame. The frame is constructed from investment casting, while the barrel and cylinder are machined from solid stainless steel bar stock, allowing for the precise tolerances required in a firearm of this size. The cylinder and frame sides are polished to a high shine, contrasted by a matte finish on the topstrap, barrel sides, frame bottom, and backstrap for visual distinction and refined appearance.
This single-action-only design includes an exposed hammer and unguarded trigger. The bird’s-head grip profile matches other Mini-Revolvers and accepts optional stocks. The cylinder swings open to the right side of the frame. To access the cylinder, the hammer is positioned at half-cock, then the knurled ejection rod is pushed forward to release it. Once open, depressing the ejector rod partially ejects the empty cases. Due to the compact size and internal design, empty cases must be removed individually, and the cylinder must be rotated to clear the empties from the stock.
