The Pietta 1873 Great Western II Posse is a .357 Magnum revolver that pairs classic Old West design with modern functionality. This 6-round single-action features a compact 3.5″ barrel, case-hardened frame, blued cylinder and barrel, and walnut grips. Manufactured by FAP F.LLI Pietta, the Great Western II (GWII) design is period correct with a floating firing pin housed in the hammer rather than a transfer bar.
The Posse model incorporates authentic period construction alongside practical modern improvements. The case-hardened frame delivers both resilience and distinctive visual character, while the steel backstrap and trigger guard ensure robustness. Introduced in 2018, the Posse variant distinguishes itself from the “Sheriff” model by including an ejector rod and head. Sighting consists of a notch rear sight and blade front sight. Overall length measures 14.5″ and the revolver weighs 3 lbs.
Model HF357CHS312NM is built on the proven single-action design that has earned respect among shooters and collectors who demand reliability and authenticity in their firearms.
