The Taurus Deputy is a single-action revolver chambered in .357 Magnum, designed with a transfer bar safety mechanism that permits safe carry with a full cylinder. The 5.5″ barrel features a 1:16.5″ right-hand twist and wears a polished black finish. The frame, grip frame, cylinder, and barrel are constructed of steel, with cylinder loading via a swinging gate on the right side of the recoil shield and a manually-operated ejector rod.
The Deputy’s design follows traditional single-action army lines, built on a solid frame with a hammer incorporating four notches that produce the characteristic four-click engagement appreciated by revolver shooters. Sights consist of a fixed front blade and a U-notch rear sight cut into the top strap. The cylinder accommodates 6 rounds of .357 Magnum or .38 Special +P ammunition. Black polymer grips are fitted for control and secure handling.
