The Patriot Ordnance Factory P415 Edge is chambered in 5.56×45 NATO and features a 16.5″ barrel of black nitride heat-treated 4150 CrMoV steel with 1:8 twist and 5R right-hand lands & grooves, topped with 1/2X28 muzzle threads. This rifle utilizes a mid-length gas piston system with a 5-position adjustable gas plug that keeps the bolt carrier group, chamber, and fire control system clean during extended operation and provides superior reliability compared to direct gas impingement systems. The single-stage trigger offers a smooth 4.5 lb. pull and is housed in a custom assembly, while all gas piston carriers feature nickel-plated bolts, extractors, and chrome firing pins, with POF-USA’s signature roller cam pin included as standard.
The rifle incorporates POF-USA’s patented E2 dual-extraction technology, with four small channels cut into the chamber walls that allow gas pressure to push against the spent case while the extractor pulls to the rear, dramatically reducing extractor load. Built on a 7075-T aircraft aluminum receiver with a black anodized finish, it features fully ambidextrous bolt catch, magazine release, bolt release, and selector switch. The patented oversized heat sink barrel nut spans three inches to completely encompass the chamber and throat, providing 17 times more heat dissipation than a standard AR and delivering exceptional thermal management.
The redesigned handguard reduces width by nearly 20% compared to the original, weighing the complete rifle down to approximately 7 lbs while maintaining superior ergonomics. The rifle comes equipped with a collapsible tactical stock, 14.5″ M-LOK® rail system, and a triple-port muzzle brake, all working together for rapid target reacquisition.
