The Primary Weapons Systems MK1 Alpha LT features a PWS standard 14.5″ 1:8 twist rate .223 Wylde barrel with an adjustable gas system and M-Lok handguard in Kodiak Brown anodized finish. This complete upper receiver system is built on a PWS proprietary piston upper of 7075-T651 aluminum with hard coat anodize per Mil 8625 Type III Class 2, paired with a Radian Raptor™ ambidextrous charging handle.
The heart of this upper is the PWS long-stroke piston system, which operates with a separate rod that pushes the bolt carrier group, reducing the amount of carbon and heat directed back into the upper receiver. The piston system keeps the action cleaner for improved reliability and reduced maintenance, while the three-setting adjustable gas system allows the rifle to be fine-tuned for optimal performance with a variety of ammunition types and suppressor configurations. .223 Wylde offers the ability to chamber both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition with increased accuracy potential.
The 11.5″ M-Lok handguard measures 1.7″ width by 2.25″ height and weighs 4.5 lbs. The gas adjustment knob is strategically placed in front of the rail for convenient access without requiring an adjustment tool.
