The Faxon Big Gunner Contour Barrel in 8.6 Blackout offers a 16-inch barrel with a 1:3 twist rate, Big Gunner contour, carbine gas system length, and M18x1.5 muzzle threads. Each barrel is machined from raw bar stock at Faxon’s greater Cincinnati facility and undergoes full stress relief, air-gauge testing, Magnetic Particle Inspection, and 11-degree target crowning for consistent accuracy. All barrels are individually checked for headspace using precision custom hardened gauges.
The 1:3 twist rate channels rotational energy to increase energy on-target, optimizing performance with both subsonic and supersonic loads. Button rifling and a Salt Wash Nitride finish inside and outside provide durability and corrosion resistance. The barrel is backed by the Faxon Lifetime Guarantee. At the time of release, 8.6 BLK is not SAAMI certified, so users should exercise appropriate caution when firing and with reloaded ammunition.
