Like conventional rings, these begin as individual components. AREA 419 manufactures bases and caps in batches, but diverges from typical assembly methods. After parts return from anodizing, they undergo full assembly and are placed into specially produced rail fixtures. The caps are then torqued to specification over custom-made spacers—designed to provide proper clearance for ring torque application on the optic—before the entire set undergoes final-boring in AREA 419’s world-class machining centers. Once machining is complete, each matched set is marked with a laser identifier, creating a unique serial connection between the bore-matched components.
