Traditional brass patch jags contain over 60% copper in their composition. When effective copper-removing cleaners are applied, this results in blue copper fouling color appearing on patches even when the bore is actually clean. The jag features a dual set of 4 contact rings for enhanced patch contact and cleaning action. Precision machining to strict tolerances delivers true, concentric pressure on the barrel surface. The first ring in each set is rounded to allow the jag to center itself in the chamber/bore and prevent damage, while the three subsequent rings have squared faces that grip and hold the patch securely in place. A reverse taper at the rear provides a smooth, edge-free transition when used with Proof-Positive Bore Stix cleaning rods, protecting the firearm’s crown by centering the jag and lifting the cleaning rod off the barrel bottom.
