Bore Tech’s Proof-Positive Rifle Patch Jags solve a persistent problem with traditional brass jags: false indications of copper fouling when using copper-removing cleaners. The BTAJ-22-CF is engineered from a proprietary alloy with a secondary treatment process that is 100% brass free and 100% barrel safe.
Sized for .22 centerfire with #8-32 threads, this jag measures 2.265″ in length. Dual sets of 4 contact rings deliver increased patch contact and cleaning action. Precision machining to strict tolerances ensures the jag works flawlessly with true, concentric pressure on the barrel surface. The first ring in each set is rounded to center the jag in the chamber and bore, preventing damage. The three remaining rings feature squared faces that secure the patch firmly in place.
A reverse taper at the jag’s rear creates a smooth, edge-free transition when used with Proof-Positive Bore Stix cleaning rods. This design centers the jag and lifts the cleaning rod off the barrel bottom during the pull stroke, protecting the firearm’s crown. Despite matching brass in softness, the alloy delivers exceptional tensile strength to resist bending and snapping under tight-patch pressure.
