Built by Patriot Ordnance Factory, the P-415 Edge is chambered in 5.56 NATO and built around a 16.5″ barrel of 4150 CrMoV steel with black nitride heat treatment. The barrel features a 1-8 twist rate, 5R right hand lands and grooves, and 1/2×28 muzzle threads. This rifle departs from conventional AR-15 design by employing a mid-length gas piston system with 5-position adjustable gas plug rather than direct impingement.
The E2 dual-extraction technology sets this platform apart—four small channels cut into the chamber wall allow gas pressure to assist in extracting spent cases. The Gen4 billet lower receiver incorporates an ambidextrous safety selector, recessed finger rest, magazine release, bolt hold open, and bolt release with enhanced bolt catch. Additional refinements include receiver tension screws, an oversized mag well flare, and an integrated trigger guard with grip relief.
POF-USA’s single-stage drop-in trigger system delivers a 4.5 lb. pull weight and is housed in a red anodized aluminum receiver with all trigger components nitride heat treated for strength and corrosion resistance. The piston bolt carrier group uses a roller cam pin to reduce friction and drag. A triple-port muzzle brake controls gas dispersion and minimizes muzzle rise. The handguard has been redesigned to reduce size by nearly 20% compared to the original, achieving a width of just 1.75 inches.
The rifle features a collapsible/folding tactical stock, 14.5″ M-LOK MRR rail, short-stroke piston system, and drop-in trigger assembly. It ships with one 30-round capacity MFT magazine. The combination of E2 extraction technology, complete ambidextrous fire controls, and modular free floating rail platform makes the P415 Edge a refined 5.56 caliber platform suited to competition, hunting, and tactical applications alike.
