The Hornady Lock-N-Load Overall Length Gauge is a reloading tool that allows you to precisely measure your rifle’s freebore and determine the proper bullet seating depth for your firearm. By obtaining an accurate freebore measurement, you can tailor your bullet seating depth to significantly improve your rifle’s accuracy. A change of just a few thousandths of an inch between the bullet and the rifling can be the difference between average accuracy and consistent, tight groups.
The Lock-N-Load O.A.L. Gauge delivers accuracy to .001″—a level of precision that competing products cannot match, as they rely on simulated bullets with arbitrary shapes. This curved OAL gauge functions with all autoloader, lever, and pump action rifles, as well as all bolt action and single shot firearms. The gauge inserts into the chamber through the ejection port.
Operation of the Lock-N-Load Overall Length Gauge requires Hornady caliber-specific Modified Cases, which are sold separately. The gauge is not compatible with Adapter “D” or short-bodied cases. the Hornady C1550 provides the precision measurement needed to optimize your handloads.
