The Daniel Defense RIS III Rail Interface System builds on the battle-tested two-piece RIS II design—deployed by U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) since 2006—while reducing weight and expanding capability through M-LOK attachment integration. The handguard employs a free-float barrel design, aircraft-grade aluminum construction, and an uninterrupted upper rail platform featuring Mil-Spec 1913 rail. Seven M-LOK attachment points line the handguard, complemented by integral QD swivel attachment points on both sides.
The 13″ RIS III offers 13″ of rail length with a 1.34″ inside diameter for barrel compatibility across multiple platforms. Built from aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum and employing the Bolt-Up system, it incorporates a steel barrel nut for secure and stable attachment to the upper receiver using Grade 8 military specification fasteners. The RIS III maintains backward compatibility with the RIS II Bolt-Up system through the same barrel nut and bolt-up plate, enabling straightforward installation. The Daniel Defense RIS III FSP provides enhanced modularity and versatility while remaining compatible with carbine gas system front sight post equipped AR-15s.
Integrated sling swivel attachment points on both sides offer convenient carrying options. Whether assembling a modern duty rifle or upgrading an existing platform with a system proven in demanding conditions, the RIS III delivers precision engineering and dependable performance.
