Connecticut Valley Arms has upgraded the .40 Cal Paramount VariFlame Breech Plug with a tungsten core insert. This tungsten design provides greater longevity and durability when operating under higher pressures. The original .40 cal breech plugs struggled to withstand the super magnum charges used in Paramount rifles, and this new design resolves that limitation. Engineered specifically for use with large rifle primers on .40 caliber Paramount muzzleloaders, the VariFlame Breech Plug maintains a debris-free flash-hole after repeated shots when using fine, loose powder propellants. You no longer need to clean out the flash hole after each shot.
