The Brownells Muslin Polishing Wheel Loose is a 10-inch diameter wheel with 20 ply and a 3/4″ arbor. Loose muslin buffing wheels are designed to color, polish and finish with ease, with single-stitch construction that consists of layers of muslin cotton cloth stacked together and affixed with one ring of stitching.
These wheels are very flexible and soft making them ideal for use on irregular shapes, with pliable flaps that engulf the work piece and get into all the nooks and crannies, and the softness and flexibility makes them ideal for bringing out the highest luster on finishing and polishing applications. Loose cotton buffs are used with polishing compounds and are perfect for final finishing work, making them excellent for light cutting and coloring on nearly all metals.
The wheel should be used with either White Diamond, Pink, or Blue Rouge buffing compound and is designed to be spun on a lathe, bench polisher, or on a drill with the proper mandrel. True the wheel using the buffing wheel rake, and as you polish and remove metal, clean the wheel surface using the polishing wheel cleaning brick when it loads up with metal particles.
