The Brownells Spiral Flute Long Forcing Cone Reamer is constructed from M7 high-speed steel, measures 5 inches long, features eight straight flutes, and is designed specifically for 12 gauge shotgun barrels. This tool gives the forcing cone a gentle taper to reduce recoil and improve shot patterns, while spiral flutes ensure a chatter-free cut on all types of barrel steel.
The reamer is designed with a long shank for use with a large tap handle, facilitating alterations to most barrels. The hex-drive shank allows the use of a standard square drive socket and T-handle. Lengthening the forcing cone area decreases pellet deformation and felt recoil for a dramatic improvement in pattern density, shooting comfort and overall shotgun performance. Do not use on chrome lined bores.
