Kicks Industries engineered the Gobblin Thunder with a conical parallel design—a cone of constriction paired with a parallel section roughly 1″ where constriction remains constant. This geometry is combined with Kicks’ exclusive directional diagonal ports angled at 135 degrees away from the shooter, which creates a sharp forward inside edge that grabs, stabilizes, and slows the wad for faster separation of wad and shot column. The result is cleaner patterns unaffected by wad interference.
The diagonal ports reduce muzzle jump and recoil, enabling faster and more accurate follow-up shots. The 135-degree port angle significantly reduces side blast—a major advantage in close-quarters shooting environments like duck blinds, trap fields, and five stand. The ports remain clear and resist fouling. The external ported section extends roughly 1 3/4″ from the muzzle and is not noticeable when shooting.
The Gobblin Thunder has earned two NWTF still target shoot victories in Atlanta, GA, and two NWTF Ladies Open Competition wins. It was also the ’98 winner of the Jakes competition. Kicks has captured numerous grand slam hunts with this choke. The Gobblin Thunder easily converts most factory-threaded 10 and 12 gauge barrels into a dedicated turkey hunting tool.
