Kicks Industries engineered the Gobblin Thunder Turkey Choke Tube with a conical parallel design that pairs a typical cone of constriction with a parallel section of roughly 1″ where constriction remains constant. This geometry combines with Kicks’ exclusive directional diagonal ports angled at 135 degrees away from the shooter, creating a sharp forward inside edge that stabilizes and slows the wad for faster separation from the shot column. The result is a cleaner pattern unaffected by wad interference.
The diagonal ports reduce muzzle jump and recoil, enabling faster and more accurate follow-up shots. The outward angle of these ports significantly reduces side blast—a major advantage in close quarters such as duck blinds, trap fields, and five stand. The ports also remain clear and resist fouling that affects other designs. The external ported portion extends roughly 1 3/4″ from the muzzle and remains unnoticeable when shooting.
The Gobblin Thunder is a two-time winner of the NWTF still target shoot in Atlanta, GA, and a two-time winner of the NWTF Ladies Open Competition. It also captured the 98 winner of the Jakes competition. Kicks has achieved many grand slam hunts with this choke.
