Underwood Ammo’s Xtreme Defense 45 ACP round builds on the proven Xtreme Penetrator product line. The XD ammunition features an optimized nose flute, total weight, and velocity engineered to achieve penetration depth up to 18 inches with a permanent wound cavity (PWC). The PWC diameter and volume exceed that of other expanding hollow points by over 100%, and expansion is maintained even after passing through barriers. The solid copper body prevents wallboard, sheet metal, and automotive glass from compromising the permanent wound channel.
These rounds are loaded with nickel-plated brass casings, which provide improved feeding across all firearm actions, enhanced corrosion resistance compared to traditional brass, superior cosmetics, and easier cleanup during reloading. Nickel-plated casings resist tarnishing during storage and when exposed to leather, moisture, and other metals.
