Daniel Defense engineered the Rail Interface System (RIS II) in response to requirements from the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) for the SOPMOD II program. SOCOM needed a free float M203 solution, and Daniel Defense developed this system to meet that specification, allowing operators to free float the M203 grenade launcher without requiring additional components.
The RIS II features Aircraft Grade 6061-T6 Aluminum construction with a free-floating barrel design for increased accuracy. A 6-bolt bolt-up system securely attaches the handguard to the upper receiver, while Grade 8 military specification fasteners provide dependable retention. The design incorporates an uninterrupted upper rail platform with Mil-Spec 1913 Picatinny Rails and a Mil-Spec Type III hard coat anodized finish.
Specifications: Length 9.55″, Width 2.23″, Height 2.25″, Weight 14.1 oz., Inside Diameter 1.15″. This battle-tested rail system is engineered to support free-floating M203 mounting on compatible platforms.
