The Area 419 419-FN-HEAD-50 is a caliber-specific funnel head designed for 50 BMG reloading. This is the head component only—the funnel body and billet storage block are sold separately. The head threads onto the funnel body and is sized to the neck diameter of 50 BMG cases, holding securely while remaining slightly larger than the actual neck for reliable positioning.
The bore diameter is precision-machined a few thousandths smaller than bullet diameter to optimize powder flow—an essential design feature for super ultra magnum rounds like 50 BMG. Internal flutes interrupt powder kernel movement at the neck, preventing jamming and creating airspace that keeps powder from compacting excessively. A 3/8″ tall straight section at the top reduces powder kernel bounce-out during pouring, improving consistency and reducing spillage.
