The Area 419 Hellfire Self Timing Muzzle Brake is engineered for 7mm/308 caliber rifles and accommodates any bullet caliber up to and including 0.308—covering 7mm, 284, 270, and Magnum variants. Installation is straightforward: the brake will not rotate as you torque the collar to lock, eliminating guesswork about port alignment once tightened down.
Timing the brake requires only a simple round knurled nut and no tools. Return to zero is excellent, meaning you can remove and reinstall the brake without requiring a zero adjustment. To install, torque the universal adapter onto your barrel using a 5/8″ wrench—this adapter remains permanently attached. Next, LEFT HAND thread the brake and collar assembly onto the adapter until nearly snug. Rotate the brake until level, push it into the adapter until you feel it lock onto the taper, then hand-tighten the collar fully to complete installation.
The Hellfire features rearward-facing ports engineered for maximum recoil reduction. Independent testing showed 52% recoil reduction on a 6.5 Creedmoor test rifle—approximately 4% more than one of the market’s most popular brakes. Its proprietary port design controls muzzle rise without top porting. The brake face is engraved with caliber designation to indicate correct orientation and includes a horizontal line to aid in leveling.
Manufactured from heat-treated 17-4PH stainless steel on state-of-the-art CNC machines in NW Ohio, this brake is 100% Made in USA. It features a 1″ OD brake and 1.1″ OD collar, available in Black Nitride finish or raw stainless (all universal adapters are black). The brake assembly adds 2.6″ from the thread shoulder, approximately 2″ to the barrel’s overall length.
