The Area 419 Hellfire Self-Timing Muzzle Brake is engineered for 223/6mm calibers, accommodating any bullet caliber up to and including 0.243 (6mm)—covering 223, 5.56 NATO, 204, 17 cal, and similar cartridges.
Installation is straightforward and eliminates guesswork. The brake will not turn as you torque the collar to lock, meaning port alignment stays exactly where you set it. A simple round knurled nut times the brake without requiring any tools. Simply torque the universal adapter onto your barrel using a 5/8″ wrench—this piece remains permanently installed. Next, LEFT HAND thread the brake/collar assembly onto the adapter until nearly snug. Rotate the brake until level, push it into the adapter to feel it lock onto the taper, then tighten the collar fully by hand. Return to zero is excellent; removal and reinstallation will not require a zero change.
The Hellfire features rearward-facing ports for maximum recoil reduction. In independent testing conducted side by side with leading competitors, the Hellfire demonstrated 52% recoil reduction on a 6.5 Creedmoor test rifle—approximately 4% more than one of the most popular brakes on the market. The proprietary port design controls muzzle rise without relying on top porting. The brake face is engraved with caliber designation to indicate the correct orientation and includes a horizontal line to aid in leveling.
Built from heat-treated 17-4PH stainless steel and manufactured on state-of-the-art CNC machines in NW Ohio, this brake is 100% Made in USA. It is available in Black Nitride finish or raw stainless (universal adapters are black). The brake measures 1″ OD with a 1.1″ OD collar, adding 2.6″ from the thread shoulder (approximately 2″ added to barrel OAL).
