The Area 419 Sidewinder Magnum 6.5mm muzzle brake features rearward-facing ports engineered for superior recoil reduction. Modeled after the proven HELLFIRE design, which demonstrated 52% recoil reduction on a 6.5 Creedmoor test rifle—approximately 4% more than one of the market’s most popular brakes—the Sidewinder incorporates one additional port and a larger diameter for even greater recoil abatement.
Installation is straightforward and requires no special tools. Torque the included universal adapter onto your barrel using a 13/16″ wrench, then LEFT HAND thread the brake and collar assembly onto the adapter until nearly snug. Rotate the brake until level, push it into the adapter to engage the locking taper, and hand-tighten the collar fully. The simple round knurled nut prevents the brake from rotating as you torque the collar, eliminating guesswork about port alignment. Return to zero is excellent—removal and reinstallation require no zero adjustment.
The proprietary port design controls muzzle rise without top porting. The progressive port configuration intelligently sizes ports larger near the muzzle and decreases incrementally along the length, maintaining overall efficiency while keeping the brake compact.
Constructed from heat-treated 17-4PH Stainless Steel on state-of-the-art CNC machines in NW Ohio, the Sidewinder is 100% Made in USA. The brake face is engraved with caliber designation and includes a horizontal line to aid in leveling. The 1.125″ OD brake with 1.275″ OD collar measures 3.35″ in length and adds approximately 2.75″ to barrel length. Combined weight of brake and adapter is 7.5oz. Available in Black Nitride finish (universal adapters in black) or raw stainless. Suppressor mounts compatible with HELLFIRE designs will be available soon.
