Rock Island Armory’s VR-60 12 Gauge delivers AR-platform design with a conventional gas-operated action built around a support tube running beneath the barrel. The return spring is housed on the same support tube, concealed within an enlarged polymer handguard. The barrel detaches easily from the upper receiver, which is constructed from aluminum alloy.
Controls follow AR conventions: the magazine release button is positioned like the M16 rifle, and the manual safety mirrors M16 design, located on the left side of the receiver above the pistol grip. The top of the receiver features an integral picatinny rail for mounting rear sights or optical accessories, along with a carrying handle.
The 20-inch semi-automatic shotgun is chambered for 2 3/4″ or 3″ Magnum loads. The removable A-2 style carry handle enables quick conversion to a flat top configuration. Each VR-60 ships in a commercial box with chokes and a magazine included.
