Barnes Banded Solids are made of tough copper/zinc alloy throughout, with no separate jacket to shed and no lead core that can break up or deform. The 50 BMG 800 grain Banded Solid Bore Rider has a Secant O’Give and is designed for use in single shot rifles with custom throats where overall cartridge length isn’t an issue. Each bullet features a 0.510 inch diameter, 2.802 inch length, 0.439 sectional density, and 1.095 ballistic coefficient.
Multiple bands, or rings, cut into the shank of Barnes Banded Solids relieve pressure and virtually eliminate fouling. The new nose design tracks straighter through dense muscle and bone, and when weight-matched with TSX Bullets of the same caliber, Banded Solids can be interchanged with expanding bullets without varying point of impact. When the Barnes Solid strikes heavy bone, it doesn’t disintegrate or deflect; it simply plows straight through.
