The Barrett MRAD SMR represents a refined approach to precision rifle design, built with both accuracy and modularity as core principles. This Single Mission Rifle is the newest member of Barrett’s award-winning MRAD product line, delivering the same performance characteristics of the standard MRAD while maintaining .75 MOA accuracy in a streamlined configuration. The SMR achieves 90% parts commonality with the standard MRAD, with the key difference being that it is factory-set in a single caliber rather than offering interchangeable barrel capability.
The MRAD SMR distinguishes itself through several purposeful design choices. A free float barrel is secured to the upper receiver using a standard barrel nut, while the fixed non-folding stock incorporates a vertically adjustable cheek piece and separate spacers for length of pull adjustment. These modifications result in a noticeably slimmer and lighter platform—nearly 2½ lbs lighter and 1 inch shorter than the standard MRAD rifle.
