Barrett’s MRAD platform combines precision engineering with modular design, performing equally well on the range or in duty applications. The Single Mission Rifle (SMR) represents the newest addition to the award-winning MRAD line, delivering the same performance capabilities as the standard MRAD with .75 MOA accuracy in a streamlined package. The SMR maintains 90% parts commonality with the standard MRAD configuration while being factory-set in a single caliber, eliminating the interchangeable barrel system of the full-featured variant.
The SMR’s key design changes center on a free float barrel secured to the upper receiver with a standard barrel nut, paired with a non-folding fixed stock featuring a vertically adjustable cheek piece and separate spacers for length of pull adjustment. These refinements result in a notably slimmer and lighter rifle, reducing weight by nearly 2½ lbs. and overall length by 1 inch compared to the standard MRAD.
