The MgLite model pairs Bergara’s CURE Carbon Barrel with the proprietary Bergara PREMIER action, which incorporates a nonrotating gas shield, coned bolt nose, and sliding plate extractor. The action employs a two-lug system with a separate floating bolt head designed to maintain consistent contact with the lug abutments. The cone-shaped bolt nose facilitates smooth cartridge feeding, while a spring-loaded sliding plate extractor is positioned in the front of the lower locking lug. The one-piece bolt body is constructed from stainless steel and features a pad at the rear to accept the threaded-in bolt handle. The bolt head, non-rotating gas shield, and bolt shroud are all fully Nitrided to provide extreme durability and self-lubricating properties. A two-position safety integrates with the trigger assembly, which uses TriggerTech Frictionless Release Technology. This design permits the bolt handle to remain unlocked in the closed position, enabling the rifle to be unloaded while engaged in the safe position.
