Blue Force Gear’s Standard Issue Vickers Sling has become the world’s standard in combat weapon slings. After extensive testing including combat evaluations, this sling is issued with the USMC M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle and authorized for use with the M4, M4A1, and M16 series weapons. The patented Vickers Combat Applications Sling™ has fundamentally changed how the US military deploys combat slings and marked the beginning of the “post 3-point sling” era. Developed to meet the operational requirements of former 1st SFOD-Delta member Larry Vickers, the VCAS™ incorporates distinctive design elements that differentiate it from competing slings.
The sling enables rapid transitions between carry and shooting positions through a contrasting color pull tab on the proprietary quick adjuster, which instantly adjusts sling length to shift between weapon carry and shooting position. When tightened, the sling eliminates excess webbing tail, springs, or moving parts prone to failure, tangling, or snagging. The 54-64 inch adjustable length accommodates different sized weapons with or without body armor, measuring 54″ with the adjuster tightened and 64″ fully extended.
Constructed from INVISTA® Solution Dyed CORDURA® webbing with low IR properties, the sling balances softness for extended wear with durability to prevent rolling. Hardware is glass reinforced DuPont Zytel® Nylon with Double Super 90 bar tack stitching rated for extreme durability in combat conditions. The 1.25″ webbing width attaches directly to fixed loop firearm attachment systems. Like all Blue Force Gear products, the Vickers Sling™ is made in the USA, is Berry Compliant, and carries a limited lifetime warranty.
