The Brownells Competitor Plus is a no-compromise reproduction of the original 1907 Military Sling, become the standard among hi-power service rifle shooters and many knowledgeable hunters. Constructed entirely in the U.S. from the finest oak-tanned, top grain U.S. steer hide, the sling is fitted with thick, forged, blued steel hooks with each hook attached using three rivets. This 1¼” wide sling features 9-10 oz. leather with a 54″ front length and 3⁄8″ numbered reference points.
The full heavyweight leather is tanned using oak tannage—not chromic salts—to provide maximum flexibility, stability and toughness without stretching or oiliness, and the smooth burnished finish allows the sling to bend and twist for a tight grip with no splitting or cracking, even across the holes. The keepers are stitched and fit tight, overlapped then glued and stitched with 5-cord waxed linen thread to hold your adjustments.
