The Brownells Mainspring Housing Hone expertly polishes the inside of a Government or Commander mainspring housing leaving a smooth burr free surface. The smooth surface finish is essential for that professional trigger job. Made with silicon carbide abrasive and twisted steel shaft, this medium 400 grit hone measures 8″ long for precise control during application.
Polishing the mainspring housing hole with the Medium Flex-Hone will reduce friction, allowing the use of a lighter mainspring for lighter trigger pulls with virtually no decrease in lock time. The hone is chucked in a variable speed drill and liberally lubricated with honing oil, running at a relatively slow speed of 750 rpm while keeping the hone moving. Must be used with Flex-Hone oil.
