The Brownells 10″ Loose Muslin Wheel with 7/8″ arbor features a loose muslin construction designed to soften grain marks and prepare the surface for finer polishing work. The wheel measures 10 inches in diameter, contains 20 layers of muslin cloth, and is equipped with a 7/8″ arbor.
Because the stitching is positioned centrally, the muslin cloth becomes increasingly loose and free toward the outer edge, making these wheels very flexible and soft—ideal for use on irregular shapes. The pliable construction allows the wheel to engulf the workpiece and access all nooks and crannies, while the softness and flexibility bring out the highest luster in finishing and polishing applications.
This loose cotton buffing wheel should be used with White Diamond, Pink, or Blue Rouge buffing compound and can be mounted on a lathe, bench polisher, or drill with the appropriate mandrel. It is recommended to use separate wheels for different grit numbers and mark each wheel with the grit number and direction of rotation to maximize wheel life and efficiency.
