Brownells Replaceable Starter Punch .060 Dia. pins are designed to break tight pins loose—then use a “drift” or pin-punch to drive the pin the rest of the way out. This saves bending pin punches and prevents fine guns from getting pin punch marks should the pin punch bend, slip, or break. These 1-inch pins feature .060″ (.99mm) diameter for 3⁄64″ (1.2mm) diameter pins.
Handles feature a removable knurled chuck to hold the punch and are made of powerful, fatigueproof C.R.S. Steel with tensile strength of over 140,000 psi (Min.). These are special, tool steel, bevel-headed punches designed for tool, die and mold manufacturers as perforators, punches, ejectors and core pins. Oil hardened to Rc 58-60 with heads annealed to Rc 42-45.
The shorter pins do not bend as easily and the tip is replaceable, so there is no need to buy a punch or kit to replace a bent tool. Six new tips cost less than a single replacement punch, making them great and flexible for varied jobs.
