Brownells Replacement Pins are special, tool steel, bevel-headed punches designed for the tool, die and mold manufacturers as perforators, punches, ejectors and core pins, oil hardened to Rc 58-60 with heads annealed to Rc 42-45. These 2″ (5.1cm) long pins have a diameter of .039″ and come in a 6-pack quantity.
The pins provide an answer to the pin punch headache that has plagued gunsmiths who have knocked out gun pins, had the punch break or bend, with handles made of powerful, fatigueproof C.R.S. Steel having a tensile strength of over 140,000 psi (Min.). They can be ground down to exact length required, providing custom punches with minimum investment.
Compatible with Brownells’ removable knurled-chuck handle design, these replacement pins eliminate the need to replace an entire punch when the tip becomes damaged. The problem with all punches in these sizes are they are fragile, but with this, you just replace the tips instead of the whole punch.
