Forward Controls Design engineered the Compact Sectional Rods (CSR) to clear stuck cases from AR15/M4 Carbine pattern rifles. The 14.5–16″ configuration is tailored for mid-length platforms, delivering a professional-grade solution that eliminates the storage and transport challenges of longer USGI clearing rods. By reducing overall length and removing the folding T-handle, the CSR achieves a compact profile that fits easily into tight spaces.
Construction uses 17-4 stainless steel for durability across extended use. Each kit contains 1 handle, 3 standard length rods, 1 short rod, 1 ram plug, and 1 jag. The design fits within Vltor and SOPMOD stock storage compartments without requiring a T-handle. A brass jag is included for patch retention, enabling the rod to function as a cleaning tool when needed, though primary use is case extraction.
Compatibility differs from standard platforms: CSR threads are 8/32, while USGI attachments use 8/36 threading, making them incompatible. Designed and made in the USA, the Forward Controls CSR 14.5–16″ serves as an essential maintenance tool for serious AR15 operators.
