The Daniel Defense DD4 RIIIS is a premium short-barreled rifle engineered for tactical versatility and superior performance, chambered in 5.56mm NATO with an 11.5″ cold hammer-forged barrel and fully ambidextrous lower receiver. The 10.5″ RIS III rail—modeled after the legendary RIS II two-piece handguard developed for SOCOM—features M-LOK attachment and surrounds a free-floating barrel, delivering optimal maneuverability, reliability, and accuracy while the carbine length gas system provides smooth, reliable cycling under harsh conditions and reduces perceived recoil.
The rifle features a Chrome Moly Vanadium Steel barrel that is cold hammer-forged with a 1:7 twist, government profile, chrome lined, and mil-spec heavy phosphate coated, paired with a Daniel Defense Flash Suppressor made of 17-4 PH stainless steel with salt bath nitride finishing. Fully ambidextrous controls allow both left- and right-handed shooters to operate the bolt catch, safety selector, and magazine release without moving or removing their dominant hand from the grip, while the GRIP-N-RIP Charging Handle is fully ambidextrous as well. The rifle comes with a 30-round magazine capacity and features an M16 profile mil-spec MP tested, chrome lined bolt carrier group with properly staked gas key.
Available in Flat Dark Earth finish with matte black upper receiver, the lightweight RIS III M-LOK rail system enhances modularity, making it an ideal choice for dynamic shooting scenarios. This short-barreled rifle delivers optimal terminal ballistics using a wide variety of ammunition, and comes equipped with a Daniel Defense buttstock and pistol grip for consistent ergonomic control. Purpose-built for tactical operations, professional use, and advanced training, the DD4 RIIIS represents the pinnacle of modern short-barreled rifle design.
