The Daniel Defense DD5 V4 Hunter is a hard-hitting, fast-handling semi-auto rifle capable of taking down any North American big-game animal, fitted with an 18″ chrome-lined barrel chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. The barrel is DD Proprietary Steel, Cold Hammer Forged, with a 1:8″ twist rate and S2W Profile, Rifle Length, with Mil-Spec Heavy Phosphate Coating. The rifle features a Pinned User-Adjustable Gas Block CNC Machined of 4140 Hardened Steel, a Daniel Defense Superior Suppression Device in 17-4 PH Stainless Steel, and a Geissele Super Semi-Automatic (SSA) 2-Stage Trigger.
The 6.5 Creedmoor takes advantage of superior ballistic coefficients to offer both flatter trajectories and reduced wind drift at levels normally reserved for much heavier recoiling long action calibers, helping the modern shooter stretch the effective range out to 1,000 meters or more. An adjustable gas block allows for dependable operation and consistent feel whether shooting suppressed or unsuppressed, while the perfected bolt carrier group reduces overall recoil impulse and is easy to maintain and operate in all conditions.
The rifle is equipped with a Daniel Defense DD5 Rail 15.0 handguard of 6061-T6 Aluminum with M-LOK Attachment, a 6 Position Mil-Spec 7075-T6 Aluminum Receiver Extension, and Daniel Defense Buttstock and Pistol Grip of Glass Filled Polymer with Soft Touch Overmolding. The black barrel, grip and stock nicely complement the Kryptek Highlander-finished receiver and handguard. The DD5 V4 Hunter comes with one 5-round AR10-style magazine and a hard plastic case.
