The Dead Air Blast Shroud is designed to tame the concussion of short-barreled rifles and pistol-caliber carbines. The DA463S model measures 1.87 inches in length, weighs 3.1 ounces, and features 4140 HT alloy steel construction with a black nitride finish. This .458 caliber shroud threads directly onto 1-3/8-24 HUB mounts.
By placing the muzzle further away from the shooter’s support hand, the Blast Shroud reduces the chance of a hand covering the muzzle on short-barreled platforms. The shroud directs flash and blast forward, minimizing noise and overpressure to both the shooter and bystanders, while also acting as a linear compensator to reduce muzzle rise.
The Dead Air Blast Shroud features modular architecture with parts that are interchangeable with other Dead Air accessories and suppressors. It installs easily over compatible Dead Air muzzle devices and other HUB accessories, and for standalone use, threads directly to 1.375×24 mounts, adding versatility across platforms.
