The Dewey Breech Rod Guide for the AR-15/M-16 allows a gun cleaning rod to go straight into the bore from the breech with minimum contact between the rod and both the chamber and barrel. Made of aluminum and Delrin, the guide is inserted into the breech end of the upper receiver and into the chamber after bolt carrier group and charging handle have been removed.
The aluminum tube that goes into the chamber is supported by an O-ring to prevent metal on metal contact and to keep oil and solvents from running back into the action. The guide comes with spare O-rings and an O-ring assembly tool. The Delrin end acts as a funnel to guide the cleaning rod into the bore.
