DoubleTap manufactures the 338L300LR Longrange ammunition, a 338 Lapua Magnum cartridge loaded with a 300 grain Hollow Point Boat Tail (HPBT) bullet. Founded in 2002 and based in Utah, DoubleTap loads this ammunition on non-corrosive, boxer-primed, reloadable brass cases. Each box contains 20 rounds, with 25 boxes per case.
The HPBT design provides ballistic advantages suited to long-range shooting. The boat tail configuration reduces base drag compared to flat base bullets, increasing ballistic coefficient and lowering crosswind sensitivity. This results in higher retained velocity downrange and flatter trajectories.
