The Ed Brown EVO KC9 is a 9mm semi-auto compact pistol that draws inspiration from the Kobra Carry design and has established itself as the defining example of a premium custom 1911. Built around Ed Brown’s revolutionary Bobtail design, stainless steel construction, and Snakeskin finishing, this pistol maintains 100% 1911 controls and handling characteristics while accepting standard 1911 magazines and standard 1911 grips fitted with the Ed Brown Bobtail cut.
The firearm is built with an external extractor, an easy-to-change front sight, and a smaller ledge-style rear sight. The bull barrel pairs with a flat wire recoil spring system for reliable cycling. The slide has been re-engineered with a 4″ length, substantially thinned for weight reduction, and incorporates a unique 7-top custom cut along with special front and rear serrations. A recessed slide stop rounds out the design.
