The Ed Brown Government .45 ACP features a 5″ barrel with .578×28 threading and a 1/16 twist rate, machined from T-416 modified, gun barrel quality stainless steel bar stock—the same material used in precision benchrest rifle barrels. The barrel is threaded at 0.578 x 28 tpi RH specifically for suppressor use and ships with a link, link pin, bushing, and thread protector. It functions as a drop-in replacement identical to the standard Ed Brown barrel.
Ed Brown rifling uses precision broach technology to cut the original six lands and grooves with a one turn in sixteen left hand twist, following John Browning’s design specifications. All barrels undergo heat treatment at an aerospace certified facility and sub-zero freezing for maximum strength and stress relief, enhancing both accuracy and barrel longevity. Cut to drop-in tolerances that typically require hand fitting to achieve optimal accuracy, this suppressor-ready barrel is built for precision and durability in 1911 Government-frame builds.
