EGW’s G.I. cut sight mount is a black anodized aluminum plate designed to install in the rear dovetail of 1911 slides equipped with G.I. styled rear sight cuts. It accommodates Vortex Viper/Venom and Burris FastFire red dot sights. The mount is constructed from 7075 aluminum with a matte black hardcoat finish, measuring 1.811″ overall length and 0.99″ width, with a 0.347″ dovetail width.
Installation is straightforward: remove your rear sight and replace it with the mount. The dovetail features a progressive taper to facilitate easier installation. Should you need to revert to your original setup, the mount can be removed and your rear sight reinstalled at any time. All mounting hardware is included—two button head cap screws for Vortex Viper and Venom sights and two flat head cap screws for Burris FastFire and Docter sights.
The mount also provides fitment compatibility with Crimson Trace CTS-1200 and CTS-1300 optics. This solution allows you to mount contemporary red dot technology on your 1911 platform while maintaining the classic aesthetics of your firearm.
