By accelerating the twist from the typical 300 BLK rates of 1:7 and 1:8, this 6-inch barrel increases projectile stabilization and energy downrange. The Gunner profile merges the durability of the GOVT/SOCOM profile with the weight savings and maneuverability of the Pencil profile, bringing the rifle’s balance closer to the shooter’s body and reducing fatigue during extended use.
Manufactured in-house in Greater Cincinnati, Ohio, this barrel is constructed from 416-R Stainless Steel with 5R rifling and a NP3 (Nickel Teflon) barrel extension. Every Faxon barrel undergoes full stress relief, air-gauge testing, and 11-degree target crowning to ensure superior accuracy. Quality control includes in-house Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and precision headspace verification using custom-hardened PTG gauges. Each barrel is tested at every operation stage and finished in Nitride with a final inspection before delivery, ensuring reliable service.
