FN America’s High Performance 5.7x28mm ammunition delivers a 27-grain jacketed hollow point bullet at a muzzle velocity of 2216 fps. Each round is loaded with 27 grains of smokeless powder and uses a hollow point bullet with a lead-free metallic core. This new production, non-corrosive ammunition is packaged in boxer-primed, reloadable brass cases.
Originally developed by FN in the late 1980s for military applications and standardized by NATO in 2020, the 5.7x28mm cartridge brings together three decades of proven performance with a hyper-velocity bottleneck pistol cartridge design that enhances range, accuracy, and terminal performance. FN Herstal’s manufacturing process incorporates an aluminum core construction with a copper alloy jacket, making this round well-suited for indoor range environments where lead contamination is a concern.
Every box contains 50 rounds for use in FN handguns, carbines, or submachine guns. The hollow point design promotes tumbling upon impact to create significant wound cavities, while the lead-free construction meets environmental compliance standards.
