The Forster HOT Pilot #224 is designed for Hand Held Neck Turner use and accommodates .224″ diameter bullets. Dedicated pilots are sold separately, measuring .002″ to .0025″ smaller than the bullet diameter. This precision-ground pilot works with the Hand-held Outside Neck Turner, which features the industry’s only carbide neck thickness cutter – no sharpening required.
For reloaders seeking consistent case neck wall thickness, this pilot enables use with a tool featuring special angles and reliefs designed specifically for neck turning; the micrometer adjustment knob allows fine adjustments in either direction, easily adjustable to .0005″. Index marks at increments of .001″ are clearly stamped on the tool body. Do not confuse with Pilots for the Case Trimmer Cutter Shaft or the Case Trimmer Outside Neck Turner, none of which is interchangeable.
