The Heckler & Koch VP9A1 F is HK’s 2nd generation striker-fired full-size duty pistol, representing the latest evolution of the polymer-framed semi-automatic striker-fired handgun platform. With a full-length grip capable of using 17-round magazines and a 4.5-inch barrel, this model delivers a 7.76-inch overall length, stands 5.47 inches high with its 17-round flush-fit magazine, is 1.3 inches wide, and carries an unloaded weight of 23.28 ounces.
The pistol ships with one 17-round and one 20-round magazine, giving you flexible capacity options. Both variants feature improved trigger mechanisms, ambidextrous controls, beveled magazine wells for better reloads, and standard slide with Optics Ready Cut for mounting numerous red dot optical sights. These new handguns ship with carry sights manufactured by XS Sights, with the front sight including a tritium vial and the rear sight consisting of a plain black serrated square-notch unit.
The pistol includes all of the elements that made the original VP9 successful: a good trigger, strong ergonomics, high-strength polymer, cannon-grade barrel steel, a stepped chamber and polygonal rifling. Between six grip panels and four backstraps that allow 54 configurations, you have the ability to semi-customize the ergonomics of the pistol. The most notable change from the original VP9 series is the omission of finger grooves found in the original design, and the new neutral front strap provides the new A1 series with a more universal hand fit. The controls are completely ambidextrous, with a slide release present on both sides of the frame and the magazine release easily activated by left- or right-handed shooters.
