At high velocity during 0-400 yard impacts, the bullet expands progressively throughout its penetration phase. A thick jacket shank and high InterLock ring work together to retain the core and jacket, delivering 50-60% weight retention. For low velocity 400+ yard impacts, the Heat Shield tip is driven backward into the bullet body to initiate expansion. This results in controlled expansion with a large mushroom profile and 85-90% retained weight, enabling deep penetration and substantial wound cavities.
