Hornady Backcountry Defense™ ammunition is engineered for backcountry encounters, featuring the DGH® (Dangerous Game Handgun) bullet designed for maximum penetration and no deflection. This 10mm Auto load consists of 200 grain DGH bullets loaded to 1160 fps muzzle velocity, generating approximately 600 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. A protected point locks the bullet nose to the core to deliver maximum straight-line penetration while limiting deflection.
The jacketed DGH design distinguishes this ammunition from hard-cast alternatives. Unlike hard cast bullets, the jacketed DGH® bullet produces no lead smoke for faster follow-up shots. The specially-jacketed bullet merges the terminal performance of a hard cast lead bullet with the reliable feeding and cleanliness of an FMJ bullet, making it compatible with modern semi-automatic pistols while maintaining deep penetration characteristics.
Each box contains 20 rounds loaded with premium brass casings and clean-burning powders and propellants plus premium components. This ammunition is ideal for serious backcountry adventures where reliability matters when survival is at stake.
