The Hornady Match Grade Neck Size Die for .308 Winchester (544357) lets you resize only the neck and bump the shoulder, with no body sizing. Control over neck tension is maintained through interchangeable, self-centering neck size bushings that prevent over-sizing case necks and eliminate overworking the brass. These bushings come in .001″ increments, delivering tight tolerances at the press that translate to tighter groups while saving money and increasing accuracy.
This die is designed for bolt-action rifle cases. Auto-loading, lever, and pump action rifles typically require full-length resizing using a full-length sizing die instead. The die includes both an elliptical expander and a replaceable decap pin retainer for added versatility. Note that the interchangeable neck size bushing is sold separately. Hornady Match Grade bushing dies accept bushings made by RCBS, Redding, Wilson, or Hornady.
